The salvific effects of the saving works of Christ

It is such an assurance to know that we have been placed in a union that cannot be dissociated from God.
On the second day of the Easter webinar, Dr. Shawn Smith contrasted between two things:
Penal substitution atonement, and the Saving Works of Christ.

Penal Substitution Atonement assumes that it has to offer God something, in order for God to accept it while the Saving Works of Christ hold the view that we do not have to offer God anything.
Rather God offered himself to us in a union that cannot be dissociated and in this union, we contain God in us, making us the holy of holies. This revelation was mind blowing to me.

I thank God for this truth revealed at this time in history, that brings us assurance and tranquillity.
